the goat is in repair.
It is cold.
tomorrow I'll stock some firewood for her.
In hopes that it will kindle something more
than a nights' revelry.

Bring us the new year
on a plate for our inspection.
A trip is in the air.
It smells of hoof and horn.

Day of the Dead at the Goat

Zanetka Gavronski will also be having a beautiful exhibition of reasonably priced prints .
Please come, dressed in traditional Dios de los Muertos attire or as one that has passed you want to honor. t

bonvoyagegoaters.

So it seems that the intrepid folks: Rob, Neda, Manuel and BQ are off to remote regions.
It is the goat's manner to miss you before you leave and glance about solemnly in your absence after you are gone. If Serbia and Ethiopia are lucky they will find the likes of you carousing and muttering about some local pub- eating with your fingers late.

Iggy and Jack in effect

Hi all sorry for the late post. Some things of note. Paundy's album is finally out and it has some awesome bonus tracks. If you haven't had a chance to get it yet please do so. The goat had a fantastic send off for Igor with some brilliant performances by Andy Baldwin, Derek and Paul, Steven Arntson, Israfel, and Before Cars. It was a great night. Mark McNight shot some nice video of Mr Arntson and it can be viewed at...
This juncture
and
This Juncture.

We are maybe looking at something for late September if all goes well. I still need to clean the place. I am going to change its name to the Mouse.

Considering some goat love and music for the night of the 29th. Pan Igorem Chilimonczykem will be gracing us with his presence. I originally built the goat building for him to live in for a bit. He has not been to America in over 10 years. I thought it would be nice to send him off the day before he leaves for Poland in grand style. Please bring an instrument. Getting low on gran marinier, tequila and all our wine glasses have been broken.

Freedom

Cousin Ed and Mere wondering where the day of immigration will lead.

oh boy.Happiness is dressing as unwashed immigrants in a Fourth Parade. B looked amazing. Instead of loading up images of the night I thought our departure point might be a more applicable encapsulation.

Mark Gsellman rocks.

Rhinestone love and a nice shot of the turtle with Dave's extraordinary seaweed marquis.
The Baron

The beautiful and wildly successful work of Zanetka Gawronski.

Steve Weinberg with Paundy reading Pie.

Paul is turning 40 in this shot.
I am choosing to keep most folks anonymous here, but this is the Clamanator: Damn the Clamanator.
I seem to be enjoying Lydia's impromptu gig. What a voice.
Thanks to Mark Gsellman for the use of these wonderful pictures.

A magnanamous start.

There is something to be said for beginnings.
The Turtle christening was full on:
A wonderful show by Zanetka Gawronski
leaped from the walls and into peoples cars,
Rather impressive herd of Elephants(R) graced the goat, a beautiful Young comic got her start,
Paundy managed yet another mission control center in the woods, A large man named Shaun was doppledganged by a drunken version of himself rendering him deeply un-drunk in comparison ( a new Rule has been instituted fining all that fall 10 bucks- 20 if they take another down, 30 if they are over 250 pounds), rob recorded steve using a portion of the original controls from Sputnik, Dave's gorgeous seaweed marquis glowed above, Rhinestones blew people away and should never ever tune that Ukulele, Eli brought his moonshine and with the help of a rather misleading chap named Spencer the "Clamanator" was born and hopefully died, Christine TCB'd, My son found Eli and Amanda in the attic of the goat in the morning and he was convinced the building was capable of birthing mythical lumberjacks overnight, Mr. Arntson helped me come to celebrate failure, Before Cars sounded just fantastic and were meant to play the new space, Lydia plays an impromptu set that felt planned, Jeff Patricio seamlessly knit it all together with B side Samba love and pulled the plug as per usual in my absence, A Steve Weinberg was mistaken for Steve Gutenberg. Dan L was sighted NW of Agate pass. Belle still has a beautiful voice.

I am still cleaning. What is with people? While world peace and a stable economy is a pipe-dream can we concentrate on not just opening beers and leaving them in the weeds untouched.

Ps. I honestly meant to tell people that the intention of the turtle is to allow local musicians to play and pass a hat from time to time in order to make local music a reality.

I never actually saw Doug; Clamanator?
And Hey, did anyone get to use the outhouse? Was it good?

2bconsidered for the 30th. .

Josh made some nice salvador/kingston/ian screw drivers.
Grinding all the boards for the acoustic back really sucks.
The turtle head is in place and looks great and a bit folksy.
Marquis is in the works at least.
Front overhang copper installed.
Gold dome complete.
Lighting being considered.
Trash everywhere.
Stone to be laid.
3 benches needed.
2 support arms to be crafted for barge rafter support: Gold?
Chiminea with requisite stack desperately needed.
Text?
POWER?

so....

May 30th
Will be the inauguration of the Turtle. It will be a race against the clock but I'm sure
it will be amazing. Zanetka Gawronski will be showing work of recent print work, Steve Arntson and Bridget Young will be performing and some manifestation of Paundy is quite possible.
We painted the ceiling with the first coat today. The sound quality is popping a bit more.
OMG.

I forgot to mention that if we are Lucky some manifestation of Anne and ________ will play too.

old school.

I haven't blogged about the goat in some time because it and I (we are metaphysically linked) are in an incubation period. I will say, it is shaping up to be an extraordinary summer. The turtle should be relatively complete by June. It looks better all the time. Please enjoy this photo of Kenya (still living ) Coco and Otis.

Challenge.

The Goat is more than that. When you show for Mike and Jamie's bon voyage, please bring your creative game . Apparently Mike has asked folks to dress as they did at thirteen. Please bring something to perform on stage, requisite instruments in tow. See you Saturday.

sweet and real.

Why we work.
Zanetka fighting for a woman's lav!
Just a few of the myriad of folks helping: The Daves,Dan, Nick, Zanetka, kato, Drew, Steve , Carl
This gives one a good sense as to the size and curve of the space.
Aww that is just plain purty.

You know what is most amazing? If you think about something for ten years as if it were a fantasy and to have your whole community make it manifest. Really I am still floating.Thank you: Scott, Dave, Dave, Doug, Dan , Nick, Zanetka, Steve, Jeff, Spencer, Alex from 20/20 and company, Bill, Cyndi, Dennis, Andy, Paul, Steve A, Anne, Manny, BQ, Maximus, Pax, Jeremy, Justine, Darren, Mer, Ron M, all the folks that stayed home and watched kids, and the folks I am definitely forgetting.

Today, I managed to fake in some of the back dome rafters today too. Rolling now! xoxoxox

OMG! Crazy LOVE>

The extraordinary community I live in came out in force!
Tons of crafts(wo)men all going to town on the turtle/outhouse/new bar entrance/bar fence/patio.
It was extraordinary. For the many folks that worked and then split I just want to reassert my thanks and welcome you back out for some entertainment soon.
All the musicians were amazing and spot on last night. The preposterous building method I chose seems to have paid off in the acoustics.
No long diatribe today, just crazy love. xoxoxoxo, t

Czesc!

Hey, any chance I could get a RSVP for Friday/Saturday? I won't get home until 6:15 on Friday. Meat and beer purchase eminent.
It should prove pretty fun-- the day, not the purchase.
Sounds like we have some all stars coming.
We won't be able to talk about this on face book.

Really!

Peoples of the goat!
Hey, I am seriously considering a hardcore work-party weekend this month: Come out Friday night... the 27th and we work through Saturday rain or shine. I thought we might try and make a film on Saturday night too. B and L are away and we can sleep a bunch of folks.
I was thinking of buying lots of meat.

The turtle is looking amazing right now. Jeff Patricio has been over almost every week with wood time and tools and the walls are creeping up! He is a superior human.

Might folks RSVP and comment for once or shoot me an email?

Do you all see how big this font is?

skid marks.

Yo, I trashed my lovely bike yesterday and I am going to the goat tonight.
If all goes well I will feel like this looks.

heya,

seems regardless of all the wood we got, that is how much we need. Private party moved to Friday night this week. ?

The bog,

Awesome humans: Manuel, Robb and Sam B all chipped in hard and carved out a path for the pissoir. They were so fast and efficient I wound up wondering why I hadn't done it already. I am considering using only pistachio shells to demarcate its borders. They are light in color ( this should aid in night time walks) and we seem to constantly replenish them.

At the moment the path just kind of ends and I would like the pee to make its way (if only moderately) under ground. The question is, " how does one know that they are finally at the pisser?"

So much art seems as if it implies something. A lot of work has the patina of intention and the scale and tenor of something vastly meaningful. Yet, frequently, I feel as if I am lead down a long hallway only to be told that the journey was the destination: Screw that. If I work hard to trace the designs of an artists intention I want their to be a payoff. I am really tired of that whole, " Hey, it is whatever you want it to be."One could say that about a punch in the nose too, but one rarely would. I think their was a time where that sort of work was relevant and inventive; such is the work of Bruce Nauman. Both the following image and the well known Duchamp are titled "Fountain."

A lot of it is kind of terse and mean spirited but IT manages to somehow summarize the whole elitist position of late modernism and satirize it at the same time.It is hard to be a fan of that sort of thing, but at least I get it.

So, these are the things I am thinking about when we go to build our pissoir. Suggestions? What do we want to pee on? How do we avoid the vulgar and hackneyed tropes of our time? Should we reference our own passing? Should we get all environmental and all?

So Amy F has been all posty with her blog.
She has posted some wicked ass goat imagery. She is an amazing photographer . Really, I am stunned.
